BAYS NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH - East Coast Bays, North Shore

For the safety and protection of people and property in our area.

BaysWatch Network Structure

Prevention of crime, protection of people and property, and maintaining standards of safety in a community is the responsibility of everyone.  It should not be left just to Police or other agencies.  Here's a way for you to play your part.

Remember, the closest support in any situation is that of your neighbours.  Get to know them.

The aims and objectives of BaysWatch - the Neighbourhood Watch network for East Coast Bays are set out.  Also below are local contacts.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

To raise the profile and encourage the development of BaysWatch - the Neighbourhood Watch / Support network in East Coast Bays in order to:

1. Create safer, more caring communities;
Reduce the incidents and effects of criminal offending;
Strengthen community networks;
Improve quality of life.
2. Provide resource, support and direction to local Neighbourhood Watch groups.
3. Encourage people to participate in Neighbourhood Watch groups for improvement of their collective safety and improvement of their quality of life.
4. Work with New Zealand Police in a strong and supportive two-way relationship for security and safety of people and property in our communities.
5. Co-ordinate signage to visibly demonstrate the presence of active Neighbourhood Watch groups in East Coast Bays.
6. Provide an administration system for co-ordination of Neighbourhood Watch activities in East Coast Bays.
7. Represent and promote the views and wishes of Neighbourhood Watch group members as may be appropriate.
8. Source funding and obtain sponsorship to advance the aims and objectives of Neighbourhood Watch activities in East Coast Bays.
9. Liaise with other organisations and bodies having similar objectives to Neighbourhood Watch. 

To operate in a non-aligned manner so that no-one is deterred from being involved, therefore non-party in politics, non-sectarian in religion and maintaining equal opportunities policies.
